Swipe Left on Drama, Swipe Right on Healing!

“Anyone But You” was more than just a rom-com fun movie. Not only did we laugh and giggle (oh boy, some scenes), but I also thought about you, my patients, my readers, and my followers. Love can be tricky, and sometimes we doubt our feelings. The characters in the film faced similar challenges, making us reflect on our relationships. The characters in “Anyone But You” set out on a journey that resonated with the essence of our familial bond. Much like them, we discovered how self-gaslighting affects relationships, leading us to question the authenticity of our feelings and experiences. The movie became a mirror, reflecting the silent challenges we may face in our own lives.

In my recent Instagram live, I touched upon the theme of “loving yourself through the darkness,” I found a poignant reflection of these concepts watching “Anyone But You.” I shared a belief that challenges the common notion that one needs to be free of previous relationship baggage before dating again. Contrary to the prevalent belief regarding emotional healing before venturing into relationships, “Anyone But You” beautifully illustrated that the right person can be a source of healing. Like in the movie, individuals face their struggles, and the connections they form lead to emotional healing.

This perspective challenges the notion that one must have everything figured out before engaging in a relationship. As mentioned in my life, the right person can be a catalyst for healing, supporting you through the ups and downs. The movie reinforces this belief, emphasizing the transformative power of authentic connections.
