Manette McDermott PhD.

At a quick glance anyone can seeManette is a teacher of the language of the heart, sign language and meditation. She works with senior citizens, babies, and people with disabilities.

Manette McDermott PhD., B.A., Psychology; M.A., Linguistics; Ph.D., Linguistics, and one of our SignShine® Instructors. These are just a few of the words that describe the wonderful Manette.

Though these words tell you a little about her, they cannot fully capture her heart. We are pleased to work along side her as we share the beauty of American Sign Language and the gift of communication.

Manette gives her heart to every aspect of her life. Her family is no exception. She has four children and continues to lend her time and energy to others on their journey: volunteering to help students prepare their college applications over the summer.

She begins each day with yoga and meditation. And fills her spare time with gardening, and cooking. I can attest first hand how DELICIOUS her food creations are!

Not only is she highly qualified, but she is a delightful human being. If you have had the pleasure of learning from Manette you know she is enjoyable to be around, full of ideas, follow through, and giving of her time and energy.
